I am a retired 2nd grade teacher. I started breeding several years ago when a friend fell in love with my Shih Tzu and suggested I breed her. Being a teacher, I thoroughly researched if it was something I could do and how to go about it. I contacted other breeders who were wonderful about mentoring me.
Shih Tzus like nothing better than hanging out beside you all day. They are low energy dogs and just playing in your backyard should be enough exercise for them. They are hypoallergenic, non shedding (except when you are brushing them), and vary in colors and sizes. They are considered a small and loving breed.
Our sweet Penny is a lt red, 9 lb girl. Penny has always been my quiet, shy one of the group. Her favorite place is always wherever I am. If you want a smaller dog then Penny's puppies would fit be perfect for you!
Gracie is a lt chocolate 16 lb female. She is very social, loves everyone and has no problem with milk coming in to help Penny nurse puppies. She gets into the wading pool with Penny and helps nurse. It is amazing to watch. Gracie is a bit more independent, but very smart. If you want a sturdier, bigger puppy, Gracie is your girl.
Odie is a 7 lb brindle male. His bone structure is very petite. He is very playful and loves to paw at you for continued belly rubs, etc. He helps to mix up each litter of puppies, providing a variety of sizes. He has produced 3.5 and 5 lb puppies in the past. The norm is 6.5 lbs, his Mama's weight.
My puppies usually find homes quickly. It is not uncommon for all to be spoken for by the time they are 2 weeks old. If you choose to go forward with one of our puppies, please contact me to be put on the waitlist.
Once the puppies are born, I will go down the wait list in the order of who contacted me first and let each person pick from available puppies. We require a $500 non refundable deposit.
The final amount to be paid varies on size, and coat and eye color. This amount is due at the time of pickup. Keep in mind this is minus the $500 deposit you previously paid. Once settled, you can take your puppy home!
